Winter Warmth Project
'TWM' Annual Winter Warmth Benefit Concert & Donation Drive
One of our long-standing commitments as an organization lies in our annual Winter Warmth Concert, which serves to fundraise money to purchase wood as well as create propane, gas, and electricity contracts for families living on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota.
Come support our community in creating a future that will collectively benefit the next generations of youth who will thrive among traditional worldviews rooted in reciprocity and relationship with nature.
All donations collected will be used to support families on the Rosebud Reservation with the costs of heating their homes throughout the winter season, including firewood, gas, and propane costs. A GoFundMe has also been created to raise these much-needed funds to support families on Rosebud.

24'/25' Winter Warmth Project
2024 Benefit Concert Overview & Impact Statement
This year, Tiyospaye Winyan Maka merged our Winter Warmth Project with our land-back initiative, 'Project Tiyospaye', and hosted our annual benefit concert on the former 'Hughes' site!
Hundreds gathered in support of our bid to have the land returned in an honorable way, enjoying community with some groovy tunes, delicious food, a guided tour, and a traditional storytelling.
This event brought major awareness to the need for winter supplies and philanthropic donations on the reservations in South Dakota. In partnership with another local drive seeking to support the people living on the Pine Ridge reservation, we donated a large shipment of supplies this past
With the massive show of support and continued donations flowing into our organization, we were able to provide hygiene products, clothing items, winter coats, blankets, boots and financial assistance to Lakota families struggling this winter.

Our Mission and Values
This project seeks to provide essential resources to families that would not otherwise have the means to heat their homes throughout the harsh winter.
Oftentimes as many as 17 people live in a single dwelling on the reservation, and the average annual income per person living in Rosebud is between $10,000 and $12,000, making fundraising initiatives like this one so important as these assets can save lives during the winter season.
